Established in 1978, Barn Joinery has gained a reputable name in quality craftsmanship and unique designs, renowned for our attention to detail and dedication to traditional joinery methods.

Our team has 95 years combined experience, and has worked across East Sussex, London and the Channel Islands. We have established strong relationships with local businesses, suppliers and clients alike - some spanning decades and generations. As a family-run business, we are proud to promote and protect the heritage of traditional woodworking methods for future generations to come.

  • Kim McGreevy

    COMPANY DIRECTOR

    Upon completing his apprenticeship training, Kim set-up shop at the age of 23 and started to undertake small joinery jobs. When he opened his first workshop in Litlington in 1978, Barn Joinery was born. As the team and client base grew, Kim moved Barn Joinery to Seabeach Lane where it has been ever since. Kim brings more than 45 years experience to every project and signs off each job with confidence in his team. When Kim isn't crafting something in wood, he may be picking up yet another medal from a fishing competition.

  • Simon McGreevy

    MANAGING DIRECTOR

    Simon joined in 2010 as an apprentice under the tutelage of Kim and soon after won the Silver medal at the CITB National Skill Build competition showcasing his talent for joinery. Since 2016, Simon has been leading the business forward, with his passion for contemporary design he brings a fresh perspective to a traditional craft. Simon leads each project, from design to delivery, acting as the key client contact. When Simon isn't at the drafting table, he is behind a drum kit playing with his band; Truth Seeking Missiles.

  • John Barry

    HEAD BENCH JOINER

    John joined as an apprentice in 1997, he soon went on to win Apprentice of the Year, completing his studies under the tutelage of Kim. Now, with over 25 years experience behind him, John has crafted a detailed eye and unique working method to produce immaculate results every time. John understands the importance of planning and preparation, a job well done can never be rushed. John's other passion in life is motorbiking, when he is not behind the bench, he's exploring the open road.

    Daniel Budd

    JUNIOR BENCH JOINER

    Daniel joined as an apprentice in 2019 and is now an integral part of the Barn Joinery team. Dan completed his studies in 2023 and was awarded a Distinction in City & Guilds' Architectural Joinery NVQ Level 3. Dan is passionate about his craft and collecting new tools for his woodworking kit. When Dan’s away from the bench, you’ll be sure to find him enjoying the latest blockbuster in our local Cineplex.

  • Kate McGreevy

    FINANCE MANAGER

    Kate joined Barn Joinery in 2019 and brought with her a wealth of knowledge in business and finance management. Kate has worked for award-winning design and architecture practices in London for over 10 years, and now assists with business development and planning. Kate has a Design degree from Goldsmiths and is as passionate about numbers as she is about fine design.

  • Hunter Tennant

    APPRENTICE

    Hunter is our latest apprentice and joined the team in 2023. He is currently studying Architectural Joinery at East Sussex College. Hunter is already well underway in developing his skill-set and refining his joinery skills and attention to detail. When Hunter isn’t sharpening his tools you might find him exploring the golf courses in East Sussex.
