Timber Sash Windows for a Victorian Hotel

Case Study: Greystone House

A Grade II  Listed Building built in 1755 within the Eastbourne Town Plan Conservation Area; a coaching inn with a modern extension added in the 1900s and characterless front door.

The brief was to design & make a curved portico roof for the extension matching that of the original, and apply for Listed Building Consent from the local Council.

Works also included replacement double-glazed sliding sash windows to match the original. Spot the difference!

Templates and detailed cutting profiles were created based upon the existing portico; a custom steam former was also created for the curved roof.

After

The new curved portico seamlessly blends into the 18th Century architecture, blending the original and new additions into one building.
